Reflux Apparatus, Continuous, Ace Glass

This continuous reflux apparatus is use to keep solvents pure and free of oxygen

The lower drain is centered for complete drainage of head. The included distillation column is 250 mm long, vacuum jacketed, and unsilvered. The included Allihn condenser is 250 mm. The adapter at top has two hose connections (for use with 3/8-inch I.D. tubing) for maintaining an inert atmosphere. The stopcocks are 2 mm bore PTFE. The joint on the lower drain arm is a [ST] 14/20; all others are [ST] 24/40.

The unit, designed by Dr. Philip Fuchs, Purdue University Chemistry Department, West Lafayette, IN., is available in a 1- or 2-liter size. Fabricated from borosilicate glass.

It features a compact, upright design that allows multiple units to be assembled in small areas. The storage head has an overflow high enough to allow storage of solvent for retrieval by syringe through upper part, or through the lower double oblique stopcock.
