Zinc formalin fixative is a non-precipitating fixative. This fixative is compatible with histochemical, immunochemical and special stains. It may be used with automated tissue processors and also in manual methods. The zinc chloride component of the formulation increases the rigidity of cellular components to withstand subsequent processing, sectioning and staining procedures. Tissue specimens initially fixed using 10% neutral buffered formalin solution may be post-fixed using the zinc formalin fixative.

The Epoxy Embedding Medium Kit is a very widely used embedding medium for electron microscopy. The embedding formulation originally published by Luft (1961) is excellent for both plant and animal tissues. Due to the low viscosity of the resin, it penetrates the tissue specimen faster than Araldite and other polymers. It hardens easily and uniformly at low temperatures with the addition of dodecenylsuccinic anhydride (DDSA), methyl nadic anhydride (MNA), and the accelerator 2,4,6-tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol (DMP-30). Slight shrinkage may occur during curing. This kit is useful for embedding a variety of tissues as a wide range of hardness can be obtained with this resin to suit a specific tissue type by using two different anhydride curing agents (DDSA and MNA).

Polink-2 Plus HRP anti rabbit detection kit is the 3rd generation of polymer detection system. It uses rabbit antibody specific enhancer to help amplify the polymer enzyme conjugate reaction to achieve super sensitivity and specificity in immunohistochemistry staining. It produces consistent immunostaining outcomes on archival tissues and on difficult-to-work antibodies. User may need to further dilute primary antibody due to super sensitivity of Polink-2 Plus detection system. It is a biotin free system, therefore, overcomes the non-specific staining caused by streptavidin/biotin system due to endogenous biotin. Most commonly used specimens for this system are: frozen tissue, paraffin-embedded tissue, freshly prepared lymphocytes and fixed culture cells. Suitable for manual or autostain. Staining conditions need to be optimised by user.

Watervrije montagemedia, zoals Neo-Mount®, moeten worden gebruikt voor permanente montage en langdurige opslag van monsters. Objectglaasjes die in pathologische laboratoria worden verwerkt, moeten tot 10 jaar worden opgeslagen, waarbij de kleuringsresultaten stabiel moeten blijven en verkleuring niet acceptabel is. Neo-Mount®, watervrij montagemedium voor microscopie, is bijzonder kleurvast en wordt vervaardigd van oplosmiddelen op basis van mengsels van alifatische koolwaterstoffen. Neo-Mount® bevat een aromavrije vervanging voor xyleen en mag dus alleen worden gecombineerd met Neo-Clear®. Xyleen moet worden vermeden in de opbouwstap, aangezien dit de objectglaasjes vertroebelt en streept. Als er bovendien gedurende ongeveer 1 minuut gedehydrateerde objectglaasjes op filterpapier vóór montage worden geplaatst, kan alle overtollige Neo-Clear® worden omzeild omdat er luchtbellen onder het dekglaasje kunnen worden gevormd. Er moet aan dezelfde voorwaarde worden voldaan bij de montage van monsters met machines die dekglaasjes gebruiken; in dit gebied kan NEO-CLEAR® het efficiëntst worden verwijderd door incubatie van de objectglaasjes gedurende één minuut in een leeg rek voor objectglaasjes.
