Process Media, Fractogel® EMD
Supplier: MERCK PRODUCTION CHEMICALS
Fractogel® presents a range of media with 'tentacular' geometries which provide an enhancement of surface topology that give the resins advantageous features for many production processes. The resulting strong binding of biomolecules by a variety of ligands (depending on application and media chosen) and the long lifetime of the material leads to high efficiency and economy of all Fractogel® media. The process media, based on a synthetic methacrylate resin, have high mechanical strength excellent and high chemical stability making the media easy to pack and ‘clean in place'. In addition the base has several advantages over carbohydrate supports as the polymer resin is resistant to microbial degradation and the risk of contamination with endotoxins is greatly reduced.
