MEIG1 Antibody: MEIG1, a murine gene first identified as a testis specific gene, is a chromosome/chromatin-binding protein initially expressed during meiosis but retained in the germ cell nucleus throughout later stages of spermatogenesis. MEIG1 is a highly conserved basal metazoan gene that is indispensable for mouse spermatogenesis. It is important for normal meiotic differentiation and absolutely crucial for terminal differentiation of spermatozoa. MEIG1 encodes two alternative transcripts, designated 2a2 and 11a2, both of which encode for a common ORF but differing in their 5' untranslated region (5'UTR) due to alternative promoters.

Ambra1 Antibody: Autophagy, the process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway is important for normal growth control and may be defective in tumor cells. It is involved in the preservation of cellular nutrients under starvation conditions as well as the normal turnover of cytosolic components. Beclin-1, a principal regulator of autophagosome formation, is in turn regulated by Ambra1. Ambra1 associates with Beclin-1 through a region near its center as determined by yeast two-hybrid assay. Null mutations in this gene in mice resulted in embryonic lethality with severe neural tube defects associated with autophagy impairment, accumulation of ubiquitinated proteins, unbalanced cell proliferation and excessive apoptotic death. Furthermore, down-regulation of Ambra1 in cultured cells though RNA interference decreased the level of rapamycin- and nutrient starvation-induced autophagy. Multiple isoforms of Ambra1 are known to exist.

NEK2, also called serine/threonine-protein kinase Nek2NimA-related protein kinase 2, NimA-like protein kinase 1 and HSPK 21, is a protein kinase involved in mitotic regulation that may have a role at the G2-M transition and may also play a role in meiosis. Mcl-1 Antibody: Myeloid cell leukimia-1 (Mcl-1) is a member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins that can act to promote cell survival. While the mechanism by which Mcl-1 inhibits apoptosis is not known, it is thought that it may heterodimerize and neutralize pro-apoptotic members of the Bcl-2 family such as Bim or Bak. Mcl-1 was originally identified in differentiating myeloid cells, but has since been shown to be expressed in multiple cell types. Mcl-1 is essential for embryogenesis and for the development and maintenance of B and T lymphocytes in animals. Mcl-1 exists as at least two distinct isoforms designated Mcl-1L and Mcl-1S. In marked contrast to the larger isoform of Mcl-1, overexpression of Mcl-1S promotes cell death.
