Met ParasiTrap® kunnen wormeitjes, protozoa en larven worden gedetecteerd. Het betreft een volledig gesloten systeem waarmee de diagnose in vier eenvoudige stappen kan worden gesteld: 1. Plaats het monster in de buis; 2. Voeg oplosmiddel en kleurstof toe; 3. Filter en concentreer het mengsel; 4. Bekijk het onder de microscoop. Het systeem werd ontwikkeld om de onaangename taak te vergemakkelijken van het verwerken van besmettelijke feces in laboratoriumomgevingen, de kans op infecties te verminderen en de hoogst mogelijke opbrengst aan parasieten te verzekeren. Door het gesloten systeem kunnen ook macroscopische diagnostische procedures worden uitgevoerd, waar nodig. Dit diagnoseconcept voldoet volledig aan de moderne kwaliteitsbeheercriteria van nationale en internationale richtlijnen (EU, CDC, WHO, BGA en DPG). Alle systemen zijn vrij van merthiolaat en ether. Het ParasiTrap® AF-systeem bevat een gevuld verwerkings- en transportbuisje I (met medium AF) en een verwerkingsbuisje II met geïntegreerd roestvrijstalen filtersysteem.
