Used to stain elastic fibers

Various staining methods are used to demonstrate elastic fibers in connective tissues in histological sections. Brilliant staining results are usually achieved when using the resorcinol-fuchsin (elastin) staining solution according to Weigert in combination with the van Gieson’s picrofuchsin solution and nuclear staining with Weigert’s iron hematoxylin solution or nuclear fast red-aluminum sulfate solution. As the Elastin solution acc. to Weigert is an IVD product and CE certified, it can be used in the accredited diagnostic laboratory.
