Entellan® New is een nieuw montagemedium voor dekglaasjes en is vooral geschikt voor commerciële automatische inbouwinstrumenten die werken met dekglaasjes. De viscositeit varieert tussen 250 en 600 mPas, 1,00869 heeft een klein viscositeitsbereik. Dit nauwe viscositeitsbereik verbetert en versnelt de toepassing, omdat noch de druppelsnelheid noch het volume moeten worden gereset na de eerste ronde met een nieuwe fles Entellan® New.

Watervrije montagemedia, zoals Neo-Mount®, moeten worden gebruikt voor permanente montage en langdurige opslag van monsters. Objectglaasjes die in pathologische laboratoria worden verwerkt, moeten tot 10 jaar worden opgeslagen, waarbij de kleuringsresultaten stabiel moeten blijven en verkleuring niet acceptabel is. Neo-Mount®, watervrij montagemedium voor microscopie, is bijzonder kleurvast en wordt vervaardigd van oplosmiddelen op basis van mengsels van alifatische koolwaterstoffen. Neo-Mount® bevat een aromavrije vervanging voor xyleen en mag dus alleen worden gecombineerd met Neo-Clear®. Xyleen moet worden vermeden in de opbouwstap, aangezien dit de objectglaasjes vertroebelt en streept. Als er bovendien gedurende ongeveer 1 minuut gedehydrateerde objectglaasjes op filterpapier vóór montage worden geplaatst, kan alle overtollige Neo-Clear® worden omzeild omdat er luchtbellen onder het dekglaasje kunnen worden gevormd. Er moet aan dezelfde voorwaarde worden voldaan bij de montage van monsters met machines die dekglaasjes gebruiken; in dit gebied kan NEO-CLEAR® het efficiëntst worden verwijderd door incubatie van de objectglaasjes gedurende één minuut in een leeg rek voor objectglaasjes.

Neo-Clear ® is een niet-gevaarlijke alternatief voor xyleen. Het is vrijwel reukloos, compatibel met de meeste oplosmiddelen met een hoge zuiverheid en wordt gekenmerkt door een lagere verdampingssnelheid dan xyleen, waardoor het risico voor de gezondheid kleiner is.

Araldite® is an epoxy resin commonly used for embedding. It is basically free from polymerization damage and the plastic does not sublime in the microscope, hence providing continual support and preservation of fine detail.[1] It is composed of araldite M or CY 212, dodecenyl succinic anhydride, dibutyl phthalate and 2,4,6-tridimethylamine methyl phenol.

Differentiation solution comprises acidified ethanol or isopropanol that is used to decolourise hematoxylin stain. The duration of exposure to the solution determines the degree of decolourisation. Differentiation is a crucial step in hematoxylin-eosin staining to achieve the proper colour contrast necessary for visualisation, by selectively removing excess hematoxylin from the tissue section and leaving behind the desired staining intensity.

CC/mount is an aqueous based permanent mounting medium with a very high refractive index, which when applied to the stained tissue sections can store the tissue specimens permanently without the fading of the chromogens. Because of the superior refractive index of CC/mount, tissues mounted in this medium look like specimens mounted with organic based mounting media. No coverslipping is required with CC/mount. However, if coverslipping is required, dried CC/mount can be post mounted by using an organic based mounting medium. CC/mount permits the long-term storage of antigens localised using organic insoluble chromogen substrates, including AEC, DAB, Fast Red, BCIP/NBT, BCIP/INT and fluorescent dyes like FITC and phycobiliproteins. The high pH of CC/mount ensures increased stability of fluorescence intensity.
