Direct-Q 3 systemen zijn ontwikkeld voor een eenvoudig, direct gebruik. Ultrapuur water van type 1 is geschikt voor de bereiding van buffers voor vloeistofchromatografie en biochemische experimenten, en voor analytische toepassingen zoals spectrofotometrie en spectroscopie. Voor toepassingen die zeer lage waarden aan organische onzuiverheden vereisen, omvat het Direct-Q 3 UV systeem een UV-lamp met twee golflengten voor de productie van water met een totaalgehalte aan organische koolstof <5 ppb, dat geschikt is voor HPLC-, GC-, ILC- en TOC-analyses. Met de BioPak™ als eindfilter, produceren Direct-Q 3 systemen pyrogeen- en RNase-vrij water met een debiet van 0,2 L/min.
