Spuiten bieden een betrouwbaar systeem voor het transport van vloeistoffen en gassen onder zowel laboratorium- als algemene omstandigheden, evenals een efficiënt mechanisme voor vloeistofafgifte. Ze kunnen ook worden gebruikt in niet-medische of niet-onderzoeksgerichte toepassingen, zoals het injecteren van lijm in nauwe reparatievoegen in werkplaatsen of voor het bijvullen van inktcartridges van vulpennen.
