Stampers
Stampers worden meestal gebruikt in combinatie met vijzels, hoewel dunnere, wegwerpmodellen ook kunnen worden gebruikt met centrifugebuizen om bacteriële cellen, neerslagen van nucleïnezuren, eiwitten of andere pellets te resuspenderen. Bij gebruik met vijzels zijn stampers doorgaans zware gereedschappen met een afgerond uiteinde, bedoeld om monsters te pletten en te malen. Ze vormen een essentieel onderdeel van het maalproces bij handmatige bediening, zijn eenvoudig in gebruik en vergen nauwelijks onderhoud.
