Deze standaard verzamelbuizen zijn ontworpen om specifieke gassen te absorberen afhankelijk van het model, voor kwaliteitscontrole en andere laboratoriumtoepassingen. Gasbemonsteringsbuizen zijn bedoeld voor het verzamelen en opslaan van gasmonsters. Veel modellen hebben aan beide uiteinden twee kranen om de gasstroom door de buis mogelijk te maken, en gas kan worden onttrokken door het septumpoortje op de zijarm met een spuit te doorboren. De kranen kunnen van glas of PTFE zijn.
