Kalibers in boogveer- of noniusuitvoering meten nauwkeurig binnen- of buitendiameters. De verstelbare moer in de boogveerkaliber compenseert de veer en maakt het mogelijk de beenpositie te bepalen. Terwijl deze kalibers samen met een aparte liniaal moeten worden gebruikt, hebben noniusmodellen een alles-in-één ontwerp. Nadat de verstelbare bek van de vaste is verplaatst, draait u de klemschroeven vast om de precieze afstandsmeting vast te zetten.
