Overdrukventielen

Een overdrukventiel is de primaire bescherming voor personeel en apparatuur die betrokken zijn bij statische en dynamische druksyste men. Het overdrukventiel wordt gebruikt om de druk in een systeem of vat te regelen of te beperken, die kan oplopen als gevolg van een procesverstoring, instrument- of apparatuurstoring of brand. Het ventiel is ontworpen of ingesteld om te openen bij een vooraf bepaalde druk om drukvaten en andere apparatuur te beschermen tegen drukken die hun ontwerpgrenzen overschrijden.
