Septa zijn verkrijgbaar in diverse materialen en diktes. PTFE/natuurlijk rubber: betaalbare afdichtingen voor GC en HPLC met goede chemische eigenschappen. Ideaal voor meerdere injecties vanwege de hoge hersluitbaarheid, maar minder gemakkelijk te doorboren dan PTFE/RR. PTFE/high performance rubber: een zeer zuiver synthetisch rood rubber septum dat een gereduceerd achtergrondniveau biedt voor specifieke GC-toepassingen met gevoelige detectors zoals ECD of NPD. PTFE/silicone (T/S): septa van 100% synthetisch, zuiver siliconen, met hoge kwaliteit en lage achtergrond/blankwaarde.
