Assaybuffers
Assay-buffers zijn mengsels van buffers, zouten, detergenten, eiwitten, conserveermiddelen en kleurstoffen. Deze buffers worden gebruikt in ELISA-assays voor verdunning van standaarden, monsters en reagentia, en voor het blokkeren van niet-specifieke interacties. Buffers kunnen afzonderlijk of in combinatie worden gebruikt. Blokkeringsbuffers zijn specifiek ontworpen om de conformationele ruimtelijke ordening van eiwitten in hun natuurlijk gevouwen toestand te behouden, waardoor de biologische activiteit van het eiwit gewaarborgd blijft.
Solubilisation buffer, 2D-Xtract™

A protein solubilisation buffer for 2D analysis must solubilise proteins effectively, without disturbing the native charge of the proteins. Urea based solubilisation buffers solubilise proteins effectively, however can modify the native charge of the proteins, due to carbamylation. Urea exists in equilibrium with ammonium cyanate that modifies α- and ε-amino groups, inducing changes in the isoelectric point of proteins leading to artifactual results.
