Magnetische kralen, zoals die van hematiet, kunnen worden gebruikt in wetenschappelijke toepassingen zoals celisolatie, eiwitscheiding, IVD-testen en nog veel meer. Deze kralen zijn verkrijgbaar in verschillende sterktes voor krachtige scheiding en isolatie. Vastgelegde substraten kunnen nuttig zijn als liganden in latere experimenten, waaronder mRNA-isolatie en het vangen van primaire of secundaire antilichamen. Het Avantor-assortiment omvat zowel isotrope (normale sterkte) als anisotrope (hoge sterkte) magnetische hematietkralen.
