Safe-T-Flex-doppen hebben een uniek, flexibel, oversluitend ontwerp, vergrendelen veilig aan de buitenkant van de buislip en kunnen met één hand worden verwijderd. Een goede afdichting garandeert de integriteit van het monster en voorkomt morsen of verdampen van serummonsters. Deze speciale afdichting beschermt tegen de aerosolen van zeer besmettelijke organismen zoals tuberculose en het HTLV-III-virus. Ze zijn voorzien van een kleurcode voor eenvoudige identificatie van het monster en om kruisbesmetting te helpen voorkomen. De bovenkant van elke dop kan ook worden genummerd of geëtiketteerd met onuitwisbare inkt. De zelfsluitende dop blijft stevig in elke positie zitten en houdt de inhoud veilig tijdens transport. Vloeistofdichte afdichting is bestand tegen centrifugeren, roeren, koelen en invriezen.
