The stable knife sliding action has unrivalled smoothness due to the horizontal cross-roller bearing. This results in less fatigue during daily use. The vertical object movement uses a cross-roller bearing system, is free from backlash and avoids vibration. The newly developed quick release system for both the universal cassette clamp and the standard object clamp in connection with the object orientation system and the user-friendly rotatable knife holder allows a quick and uncomplicated approach of the object to the blade. The section thickness can be set manually or automatically. The object coarse feed is controlled by the handwheel on the microtome.
