Bains

Couramment utilisés dans les laboratoires de microbiologie, les bains-marie créent des conditions spécifiques pour l'incubation d'échantillons ne pouvant être exposés à une flamme nue. Des commandes analogiques ou numériques permettent de régler la température constante ainsi que l'agitation ou le brassage. Généralement, on utilise de l'eau pour chauffer doucement les échantillons contenus dans le bain ; de l'huile et des billes sont également utilisées lorsque des températures plus élevées ou des méthodes plus efficaces sont nécessaires. Les bains-marie peuvent être munis de couvercles pour empêcher la chaleur de s'échapper et éviter toute contamination extérieure.
