ATEX RV pumps have an external ATEX classification of Ex II 2G IIC T4 or Ex II 2G IIB T4 and internal ATEX classification Ex II 3G c IIB T4. They are suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres such as hazardous area pumping. They are supplied with the gas ballast port which must be fitted with an inert gas purge while pumping flammable gasses or vapours to dilute such gases or vapours below the lower explosive limit.

The E1M18 and E2M18 pumps are direct drive, sliding vane pumps. The E1M18 is a single-stage pump, and the E2M18 is a two-stage pump. This vacuum pump is designed for use with aqueous samples that are compatible with FreeZone Freeze Dry Systems, CentriVap Centrifugal concentrators and Protector® Controlled Atmosphere glove boxes. It comes with a single phase direct drive motor, totally enclosed and fan cooled. When the motor overheats, the thermal overload device switches off the pump. When the pump cools down, the motor automatically restarts. Isolation valve seals the inlet to prevent oil and air contamination of the system in the event of power failure.
