With the temperature resistance needed to heat solvents, the specialized apparatuses allow vapours to travel up the arm where a thimble blocks solid material from escaping. Designed to have cooling vapor enter the solid contained chamber, percolators circulate the now warm solvent liquid to dissolve desired compounds. Incorporated vapor tubes protect the bulbed siphon tube within Soxhlet extractor systems.
