Heads serve as the receiving vessel in microscale distillation apparatuses during mixture purification procedures. With the glass surface that cools rising vapours, the devices trap the returning liquid inside circular depressions at the base of the tube. Ported formats make solvent collection less demanding as retrieval can be completed without dismantling the apparatus. Reducing the overall holdup volume, heads come in various joint sizes to connect with existing glassware easily.
