JC-1 (iodide), Sigma-Aldrich®
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
A dual-emission potential-sensitive probe that can be used to measure mitochondrial membrane potential. JC-1 is a green-fluorescent (λex 520 nm) monomer at low membrane potential. At higher potentials, JC-1 forms red-fluorescent (λem 596 nm ) "J-aggregates," which exhibit broad excitation and very narrow emission spectra. The ratio of red to green fluorescence of JC-1 is dependent only on membrane potential, and not influenced by mitochondrial size, shape, or density.

N,N-Dimethyl-1,4-phenylenediammonium dichloride ≥99.00% (by titrimetric analysis) suitable for peroxidase analysis, Sigma-Aldrich®
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
N,N-Dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride (DMPD) has been used in the HID-AB (high iron diamine-alcian blue) staining of intestinal tract samples. N,N-Dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride (DMPD) is used for the determination of peroxidase. DMPD is converted into a red pigment of semiquinone nature. It is also used in the HID-AB (high iron diamine-alcian blue) staining procedures, which are used to differentiate between sialomucin and sulfomucin in the gastrointestinal tract.

Formalin 10% histological fixative, neutral buffered
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
10% Neutral buffered formalin (NBF) is the most commonly used fixative for light microscopy. 10% NBF is well suited for large throughput laboratories and requires a relatively short period of fixation, but can also be used for the long-term storage of tissue. Formalin fixation is thought to form between the aldehydes and the proteins, creating a gel, thus retaining cellular constituents in their in vivo relationship.
