The formyl peptide receptor-like 1 antagonist, WRW controls the biological activity of formyl peptide receptor-like 1 (FRPL1).

A Trp-rich hexapeptide that acts as a potent and specific antagonist of FPRL1-mediated signaling. Shown to bind to FPRL1 and interfere with the ligand-receptor interaction. Completely blocks the ligand activated [Ca²⁺]i increase, ERK activation and chemotactic migration of FPRL1-expressing RBL-2H3 cells at 10 µM. Further, inhibits Aβ₄₂ peptide-induced superoxide generation and prevents its internalization in human macrophages.
