About this item
Galectin 3 is a lectin with carbohydrate recognition domains (CRD) which bind -galactoside. It is a multifunctional protein expressed both on the cell surface, cytoplasm and nucleus and appears to have roles in specific carbohydrate binding and in the regulation of mRNA splicing.
Antibody recognizes Galectin 3 by western blots (1:2000-1"10000) and in immunocytochemistry or Immunohistory chemistry on frozen or 4% PFA fixed tissues. Antibody has not been tested with paraffin tissues. Antibody reacts with human, mouse and rat and likely other species because of homology but this has not be confirmed.
