Both strong anion exchange (SAX) and strong cation exchange (SCX) columns are bonded with spherical silica particles for optimum efficiency. SAX is ideal for separation of water-soluble compounds such as aromatic and aliphatic carboxylic acids and sulphonic acids and SCX is ideal for separations of basic, water-soluble compounds and bio-molecules.
