You searched for: Celite® 545, filter aid
Celite or diatomite are naturally occurring sedimentary rocks containing silica which can be crumbled into an off-white powder. The substance consists of fine particles ranging from 10 to 200μm. Celite is used as a medium of filtration because of its high porosity. Commonly called as dietomaceous earth, this soft powder-like substance is used in applications including filtration, heat insulation and adsorption.

Filter agent (diatomaceous earth) is made up of natural amorphous silica formed from the fossilized skeletons of diatoms. It is extracted, crushed, dried and calcined with or without flux material. DE is widely used as filler in construction materials, paints and as anti-caking agent for agricultural chemicals. It has high water and oil absorption ability. The potential toxicity of different samples of DE has been assessed.
