Gewichte der OIML-Klasse E1 dienen zur Sicherung der Rückführbarkeit zwischen den nationalen Massenormalen (deren Werte vom Internationalen Kilogramm-Prototyp abgeleitetet werden) und den Gewichtstücken der Klasse E2 und niedriger. Sie können auch mit Mikrowaagen verwendet werden. Antimagnetische Gewichte aus Kobaltlegierung sind von 1 bis 500 mg erhältlich. Die in Kunststoffboxen verpackten Drahtgewichte sind einfach zu lagern. Die antimagnetischen Knopfgewichte aus korrosionsbeständigem, hochglanzpoliertem Edelstahl sind von 1 bis 200 g erhältlich. Diese Gewichte sind ebenfalls in Kunststoffboxen verpackt, die leicht zu verstauen sind. Zudem sind Gewichtssätze, wahlweise aus Kobaltlegierung oder Edelstahl und in Kunststoff- oder Holzboxen, erhältlich.
