Schwere Melaninpigmente in den Zellen können die Zellmorphologie verschleiern und anschließend die Interpretation bei Verwendung routinemäßiger oder spezieller histochemischer Färbungen beeinträchtigen. Das Melanin-Bleichkit ermöglicht die Entfernung von Melanin aus Gewebeschnitten, sodass positive Färbungen richtig interpretiert werden können. Ein Zwei-Schritt-Kit, das kein Mischen erfordert. Wird vor der Färbung verwendet, um Melanin zu reduzieren und gleichzeitig empfindliches Gewebe, zytologische Details und Antigene zu bewahren.

Die Differenzierung ist ein entscheidender Schritt bei der Hämatoxylin-Eosin-Färbung, um den richtigen Farbkontrast zu erzielen, der für die Visualisierung erforderlich ist, indem überschüssiges Hämatoxylin selektiv aus dem Gewebeschnitt entfernt wird und die gewünschte Färbungsintensität zurückbleibt.
