Tris-HCl is a solution containing tris base mixed with hydrocholoric acid. Tris has a pKa of 8,07 at STP and is used in bufferings solutions to prevent large changes in pH level. A staple of electrophoretic and other biological applications, Tris has a useful buffer range of 7 to 9, which coincides with the physiological pH typical of most living organisms. Tris is the 'T' in TAE and TBE Buffers.

Each reagent is prepared with 18 megOhm water, filtered using a 0,2 micron filter, and filled into sterile bottles.
