Stickstoffgeneratoren sind die am weitesten verbreiteten Gasgeneratoren, die derzeit in Laboren weltweit eingesetzt werden. Sie sind dafür konzipiert, eine kontinuierliche oder bedarfsgerechte Versorgung mit reinem, phthalatfreiem Stickstoff bereitzustellen. Diese Systeme arbeiten mit Druckwechseladsorption zur Entfernung von Sauerstoff, Kohlendioxid und Wasserdampf. Nach der Reinigung des gewünschten Gases wird dieses durch hocheffiziente koaleszierende Vorfilter und einen 0,01 µm Membranfilter geleitet. Einige Modelle sind so kompakt, dass sie in kleine Schränke oder unter die meisten Arbeitsflächen passen.
