Septen sind in einer Vielzahl von Materialien und unterschiedlichen Dicken erhältlich. Ausführungen aus Naturkautschuk/TEF sind kostengünstige Verschlussvarianten für die GC und HPLC mit guten chemischen Eigenschaften. Sie sind aufgrund ihrer guten Wiederverschließeigenschaften ideal für Mehrfachinjektionen, jedoch nicht so leicht zu penetrieren wie RR/PTFE. Das PTFE/High Performance Red Rubber-Septum aus hochreinem, synthetischem Kautschuk minimiert das Untergrundrauschen bei speziellen GC-Anwendungen mit empfindlichen Detektoren wie ECD oder NPD. PTFE/Silikon-Septen (T/S) bieten hohe Qualität, niedrige Untergrund-/Blindwerte und 100% synthetisches, reines Silikon.

Microseal septum incorporates two separate sealing mechanisms. These sliding seals eliminate septum coring and the resulting accumulation of septum crumbs in the injection port liner. The septum uses a 23-gauge (0,63 mm, 0,025”) needle or probe with a blunt, truncated conical tip. Since the syringe plunger end details are determined by manual or autosampler compatibility. The advantages of the septum include elimination of septum coring, longer life, consistent and low needle insertion force.
